Betrayed

Treachery, a jungle's primal curse

A pettifogger girl, with morals dispersed

She tangled with a soothsayer's artful scheme

Betraying the heart of a gentleman, a mere dream

Her deceit, a leopard's stealthy prowl

Her actions, a treacherous scowl

She played the part of an unsuspecting prey

But her heart was filled with treachery, not sway

Her words, a crocodile's deceitful grin

A heartless hyena, her treachery spin

She lured the gentleman with false serenity

His heart, now shattered and filled with animosity

The soothsayer, a manipulator of fate

His prophecies, a mere ruse, to satiate

But the pettifogger girl, fell for his ploy

Like a lamb to a tiger, she was caught in his ploy

In the end, treachery won the day

Leaving the gentleman to mourn and stray

A cautionary tale of love gone astray

Betrayed by a pettifogger girl and a soothsayer's play.
